학술대회 안내

Greetings

We are pleased to welcome you to the International Conference on Learning Sciences and Educational Innovation (ICOLSEI) 2026. Following its successful inauguration last year, ICOLSEI is being held for the second time, hosted by the Korean Society for the Learning Sciences in collaboration with partner organizations. The conference provides a forum for researchers and practitioners from diverse fields to share insights and engage in meaningful dialogue on learning and educational innovation.

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence is not only transforming educational practices, but also raising fundamental questions about the nature of learning and human intelligence. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in processes of knowledge construction and problem solving, it is no longer sufficient to view learning as an individual or isolated process. Instead, learning must be understood as a dynamic, socially situated, and technologically mediated process that unfolds across multiple levels of interaction.

In this context, the learning sciences provide a distinct and essential perspective. By examining how cognitive, social, and contextual processes interact over time, the field seeks to uncover the mechanisms through which learning emerges, evolves, and is sustained within complex systems. This perspective enables us to move beyond fragmented approaches and toward a more integrated understanding of learning in the age of AI.
ICOLSEI serves as a space for researchers and practitioners from diverse disciplines to engage with these challenges. Through interdisciplinary dialogue, the conference seeks to deepen understanding of learning processes and explore ways to support human intelligence in increasingly complex learning environments.

Under the theme “Rethinking Learning: Human Intelligence in the Age of AI,”
ICOLSEI 2026 invites participants to critically examine how human intelligence is shaped through interactions among
individuals, tools, and communities, and to explore new possibilities for designing learning environments that foster
meaningful and sustained learning.
We hope that ICOLSEI 2026 will serve as a platform for advancing research and dialogue on learning as a complex, interactive,
and evolving process, and for strengthening a global community committed to the development of learning sciences.
Best regards Young Hoan Cho
